About the Star & Dove

Star & Dove - red room

Overview

Formerly the Cumberland Inn, the Star & Dove sits on the edge of Totterdown, the pastel-coloured community famous for its November Arts Trail. The pub is also about 50 yards from Victoria Park, a beautiful green oasis with tennis courts, football pitches and, most importantly, lots of space for sunbathing and dog-walking.

What's on offer

What was once a careworn corner on St Luke's Road has been refurbished and tarted up into a real gem of a pub. It's a wonder what a lick of paint and sanded floors can do... Downstairs, there are two separate bar areas, the Green Room and the Blue Room, where you can loaf about on the reclaimed sofas and banquettes, or on our 'church hall' chairs. Upstairs is our area for hire, where you'll find royal blue walls, parquet floors, damask linen and a pig on the wall... Come have a look to find out!

We have a wide selection new and old world wines carefully selected from small and independent wine makers, mostly available by the glass and bottle, predominantly priced between £15 and £20 a bottle - please have a look at our wine list. We have a number of draught lagers, which will change from time to time, including Amstel and Kronenburg, draught ciders Addlestones and and a selection of ales including Bath Ales Gem and Butcombe Best. Obviously, we also stock a wide selection of spirits including vodkas, bourbons, whiskeys etc. Champagne is available by the bottle only, if you have specific requirements for bookings please enquire for further information.

People enjoying a sunny drink outside

It's a great place to hang out, with cushioned benches, bamboo plants, ample seating, and a large pink wall. And a covered trellis area, for when you need to get outside even if it's raining...
